songs that the big bear sings

There are times when the big bear has got up in the morning, and he finds himself singing songs about the little bear and how lovely he is, just singing to himself with nobody else there to listen to the songs. Singing the songs makes the big bear smile, and he wishes that the little bear could hear the songs.

They are quite simple songs really, mostly about how the little bear is nice, and how the big bear likes him, and how warm and snuggly they are together.

Sometimes the words go like this: "I love the bear, I love the little one... I love the bear, he is a snuggly one... I love the bear, he is a cuddly thing... I love the bear, I like to hug him lots", and repeat.

Now that he thinks about it the big bear is glad that there is no-one around to hear the songs because they are quite silly.

the bears miss each other lots

Most of the week the big bear and the little bear are in different cities, miles and miles away from each other. When that happens, they miss each other lots and lots.

They both go into their jobs and sit at their desks, and they pine away, thinking about how much they miss snuggling and how much they would rather be snuggling than in the office.

The little bear hangs out with his freinds at night, and the big bear hangs out with his freinds at night too, but it is not the same as the bears hanging out with each other.

It can be really quite sad sometimes.

The bears make up for the time that they don't see each other by snuggling lots when they do see each other, and one day they are going to have a lovely house where they can live together for ever and be happy ever after.

Especially if the little bear manages to persuade the big bear to buy them a puppy.

sleeping noises

When they are in bed all asleep the big bear snores. He snores and snores, especially if he has had a glass of wine. Sometimes he can sore so much you would think it was an earthquake, but no, it is just the snoring.

Little bear says that the secret to sleeping when the big bear is around is to fall asleep quickly before the big bear does, because if he starts to snore before you are asleep the noise will always keep you awake.

The little bear just makes cute sleepy noises when he is asleep. He makes num-num-num noises, and snuffles, and makes sounds like a very cute sleepy animal, which is what he is. Little bear never snores. At the very most he snuffles just a little bit, but that is cute, like a hamster.

There is one thing about sleepy noises though. Nobody is allowed to fart.

how the little bear found the big bear

One time, the little bear was all alone. He did not even know that there was such a thing as a big bear, or anything like that.

The little bear walked around his flat, and there was nothing that he could do. He was bored, bored, bored. So the little bear decided that it was time to tuck himself into bed, watch an episode of freinds or two, and go to sleepyland.

The little bear turned on his teevee, and loaded up freinds, and started the episodes. He got into his pyjamas, washed his hands face and teeth, and did a great big stretch and yawn. YAWN! He sat on the side of his bed, and thought "well, there's nothing to it, but to go to sleepytime", as he started to lay back in the soft covers.

But the bed was a warm one. It was a bit different to normal. The little bear lay back, and started to stretch out his arms.

And all of a sudden there was something hairy.

And all of a sudden there was something warm.

So the little bear moved a bit closer to it. And explored around it... and guess what. It was a big bear! All sleepy and in the bed!

So the little bear stroked the big bear, and the big bear woke up. And he smiled at the little bear. And then the little bear wasn't worried or lonely any more. The little bear was able to snuggle up to the big bear, and nuzzle his big hairy chest, and know that it was all going to be alright.

Maybe the night before the big bear was at a party and came back to the little bear's house after dancing all night. But that's not the best bit, or the bit that is remembered.

The best bit and the remembered bit is the finding of the big bear. And the big bear is very happy that he was found.

bears are furry things

The big bear is pretty furry. In fact, you would have to look quite hard to find somewhere on the big bear that was not hairy. He has a hairy chest, a hairy tum, hairy legs, hairy arms, a hairy head and a hairy face. In fact, the only thing that is getting less hairy about the bear is the top of the head. But the big bear can't really see that bit of himself so he forgets that it is getting less furry and dosen't worry.

The little bear is not as hairy as the big bear, but he still has his furry parts. He has a hairy head, and sometimes a hairy face, hairy arms and legs, and little bear's chest hair gets more furry all the time.

You should know that little bear never has any back hair, oh no not little bear. If you see little bear when he is at his swimming pool (bears like to swim you see) you might think that you see a little bit of hair on the little bears back but rub your eyes and look again. Little bears never have back hair. Well. One time the little bear did have three back hairs, but the big bear pulled them out (ouch) and so now there are none.

Hairyness is a funny thing. Both bears can be a little bit funny about hairyness on themselves. It's a good job that they both like hairyness on each other, isn't it.

weekend lie-ins

Weekends are designed for snuggles. At the moment the little bear and the big bear live a long way away from each other, about fifty miles. So, the bears have to make the most of the snuggling time that they have.

But that is ok, because there is the lie-ins in the morning. Normally big bear gets up before the little bear, and he pads around the house doing jobs. But when the big one gets bored of doing jobs he sneaks back into bed and hides under the covers and snuggles up.

snoozing and sleeping

Big bear and little bear aren't good at sleeping together. Sometimes they try and sleep together, but the big bear ends up staying awake and being a grumpy bear. Big bear needs a whole bed all to himself, and little bear needs all the covers to himself. Grumpyness is not good for bears, but it is worse for those other people who are around the bears. Oh dear, grump grump grump.

When the bears are grumpy, a snooze can help cheer them up. Snoozing often happens on Sunday afternoons, or on the sofa in front of the tele. Snoozing is also excellent for snuggling.

The big bear is best at snoozes. He can snooze anywhere, but especially on soft things.

The little bear is best at sleeping. He can sleep lots and lots and lots. There are times when he is especially good at going to sleep; those are called portal times.

The sleepy portal comes on in the evenings, and when that happens the best thing is to spot when it is happening - you can tell because his eyes close and he stops moving - and then hold him by the paw and take him to his bed. If you have missed noticing that he is falling asleep and he can't be moved, then find the nearest snuggly blanket, but don't try to wake him. Snuggly blankets help little bears to sleep. They are not as good as polar bears, but it is easier to get hold of a blankey.

Maybe one day the bears will be good at sleeping together, but it is ok if they are not because they cuddle lots and lots, and that is the main thing.

sitges snuggle

There was a time when the bears were in Spain. In a town called Sitges. You have probably heard of it. It was very hot. It was so so hot and they were in a lovely hotel which had lots of art work and culture but had no air conditioning. Both of the bears were sleeping with no clothes on, and without any covers on their beds or anything like that.

As I am sure that you can imagine, snuggling in such a circumstance can be a wee bit tricky. I mean, while snuggles are lovely, they can be very very warm things, especially if the weather is hot.

But the bears did like to be near to each other, so they lay on the bed in their room, listening to the fan on, and the wriggled and squiggled closer to each other. In the end the little bear came up next to the big bear, and rested his head on the big bears arm, but with them both lying on their back so that they could feel the cool air from the fan.

The bears lay like that for all of the afternoon, just stroking a little bit, and then they went for cocktails in the hotel bar made by the nice barman. They were lovely to drink, and had lots of ice in them.

what the big bear is like

The main ingredient of a big bear is sillyness. He is as silly as a sausage. You see, while little bear is big most of the time in the day, but turns into a little bear when he gets back to the bear's den, the big bear is the big bear all of the time.

The thing is, no matter how hard the big bear tries to be big, he ends up just being silly. He is especially silly when he dances. Dancing makes him look gay. But the big bear can't help himself, and sometimes the dancingness just jumps out from him, and then everyone can see that he is not a big bear really.

Luckily for the big bear, it is ok to be silly. The little bear says that some times being silly can be quite cute.

The big bear has a funny bear-mobile. It is a bit like a dodgem. It only has two pedals and no proper gears, and the big bear tends to (nearly) bash it in to things. One of big bears freinds told him that she liked riding in his dodgem because it was an adrenaline sport, a bit like snowboarding; because you are always a bit afraid for you life but really everything is all right. Or something a bit like that.

The other thing that you should know about the big bear is that his other main ingredient is hairyness. He has a big hairy chest, which is important, as the little bear can snuggle up to it, nuzzle it, and stroke it. Sometimes the little bear muches on the hair, but the big bear is not sure if he likes that bit or not.

So it is sillyness and hairyness that makes a big bear.

the rodney

The Rodney is a very important snuggle. One time, the little bear and the big bear were both very busy. There was no way that the bears could spend time together for ages, so the big bear went out and found Rodney. Rodney is a baby polar bear, a real one. He's quite lazy, and tends to sleep a lot, but one thing that Rodney likes is snuggling.

So. The little bear was all by himself and busy, so he snuggled Rodney. And he found that he could snuggle Rodney all night long, and that they would both love it lots and lots. Rodney would lie on his back, and little bear would put one arm behind Rodney's head, and the other arm around his chesty-necky area, and pretty soon the little bear snggled Rodney every night.

Then there came one day, when both of the bears were in bed snuggling, and the big bear shuffled down the bed a little bit and lay on his back. And all of a sudden, little bear leaned forward, and he was snuggling the big bear just like he was Rodney, and it was lovely.

The best bit about a Rodney-snuggle is that the big bear can lie on his back, all relaxed and floppy, and not worry about anything in the world, feeling looked after, as the little bear has him safe and sound all over. And the little bear gets to stroke the big bears big hairy chest something which, if you know the little bear, you know he likes lots and lots.

In the bear-mobiles when they are going along the road bears like to hold each others hands, but not in a way that would stop them from driving properly.

Sometimes the bears feel a bit funny about holding hands when they are about the town and shopping and things, because some people don't like to see bears holding hands and it can be a bit embarassing to get looked at. So they can do it in the car when they are going along, and no-one can really see.

They also sneakily do it when they are watching a film in the cinema and it is dark. That can help if the film is a sad one or a scary one. Scary films make the big bear jump. Sometimes, when it's very special, the bears sneak a cuddle in the cinema, but mostly, they just hold hands.

It is nice to hold hands.

what the little bear is like

The little bear is the little one. He likes to be small, and snuggle up in a corner, all warm and cozy.

He is very good at making people feel nice, and he dances in lots of fun ways when he is able to. In fact, if you are able to see the little bear when he is by himself and there is noone else around, you are most likely to see him sitting at his pooter, with his music on loud, dancing away and having fun. It is a nice thing to see, but you have to be very quiet, or he would know that you are there and he would stop dancing and singing.

Often he dances and sings when people can see him too, then he jumps around and waves his hands in the air! He has loud music on in his little bear-mobile, which is a little bluey green car, a bit like a go cart with super charging.

Little bear likes people to think that he likes doing nice things for people. Inside, he does like to do nice things for people too, but shh, it's a secret. Most of the time it is even a secret from the little bear himself. That might seem strange, but there is the bit in the middle, which is what happens when little bear is out there in the real world, not in the bears den. Then he pretends to be all big and like a real life person, someone who has big clever thoughts (and he does have big clever thoughts) and is busy and important for a job (and he is busy and important).

But really, under it all, he is a little bear who likes dancing when no-one is watching, and who secretly likes to do nice things.
