Can the bears take their mummies and daddies out for lunch?

So the big bear and the little bear decided to tell their mummies and daddies that they wanted to be together for ever and ever because they loved each other a lot. It turned out to be not as easy as that sounds.

At first the big and little bear wanted to get their mummies and daddies together at the same time so that they could tell them all at once and open a bottle of champagne and all be happy and excited together. The bears talked about how lovely it would be for ages and ages, and then they found a time that was best for everyone and looked good when everyone agreed they could make it. So then it was just the job of finding the place to meet up.

But it was hard to arrange for them all to get together LB's and BB's parents live a long way away from each other and would both have to drive to somewhere to meet. First of all BB's folks did not want to drive too much. But then we managed to sort it out so that they would be OK driving to a nice place.

However by then it was the day before, and then the weather was rainy and windy and horrible and LB's ones did not want to drive in the nastyness, because they were worried and tired and not really feeling very good. So the bears were a bit upset that it all had seemed to come to nothing. Oh dear.

Why is it so hard to arrange times to get together to tell people good news. It makes the big bear sad. Perhaps that is just the way it is, for bears.
